We manage four acres of nutrient-dense vegetables, cut flowers, fruit trees, and cover crops in a bio-intensive fashion with a concentration on soil health.  We grow more than 50 varieties of veggies and 30 varieties of cut flowers for CSA, farmers market, and wholesale.

Job Description/ Responsibilities
We are hiring crew members for the 2018 season (April – October)  to manage daily activities with the farm owner, including, but not limited to:

  • Greenhouse work- seeding, up-potting, preparing bedding plants for sale

  • Vegetable high-tunnel production

  • Field work- irrigation, weeding, transplanting

  • Harvesting, washing and packing for CSA deliveries and farmers markets.

  • Record-keeping- field plans, seeding schedules, and harvest logs

  • Care for a flock of 100 laying hens and broiler chickens.

The work will be done both independently and with others.  Occasional tasks may also involve working with and supervising volunteers. Positions will also be responsible for quality control and record-keeping related to fieldwork and post-harvest handling on the farm.

We are looking for crew members who are passionate about food and farming and are eager to work and learn.  Previous farm experience is a plus, but not required.  Attention to detail is also important, as crew members  will need to manage the records related to fieldwork & equipment maintenance.

Employees should expect to work efficiently and quickly and maintain our standards of high quality produce and customer service. We work at a fast pace and expect our crew members to do the same.  A good sense of humor definitely comes in handy, too!
